Data Collect using Form Based Collaboration


Skyl’s Form Based is an another method of data collection which can be done from Skyl Web Collaborator app. You can create a job to collect data with any number of collaborators. Each collaborator can login to the Web Collaborator App to start collecting data.

  1. Select “Form Based” under the “Data Collection” module


  2. Click on “Create a Collaborator Job” link-button


  3. Configure Collect Job

  4. Monitor job performance from the ‘Form Based’ and ‘Overview’ pages

Skyl’s Collect API is a method of data collection through which data can be taken directly from its source. You can connect the API to your application and start collecting data immediately.

  1. Select “Collect API” under the “Data Collection” module


  2. Select “Get Project Access Token” to navigate to the ‘Project Access Token’ page. From here, create a Project Access Token


  3. In the “Project Access Token” page, select “Create Access Token” to generate an access token

  4. Copy Access Token


  5. Return to the ‘Collect API page’ and select the required code snippet


  6. Replace “PROJECT_ACCESS_TOKEN” with the Project Access Token

  7. Replace “IMAGE_URL” with a URL of an image

  8. Replace “VALUE_OF_THIS_COLUMN” with the category of the selected image tag (Note: This is optional)

  9. Integrate the code into your system

Data Collection Overview’ is a dashboard that provides statistical information about data collection performance every data collection source including:

  1. Collect API

  2. Form Based

  3. Mobile

  4. CSV Upload

On this page you will find 2 widgets:

  1. The “Trends” widget displays information on the amount of data uploaded during different time periods ( Last 7 days, Last 15 days, Last 30 days)


  2. The “Statistics” widget displays statistics around the dataset

    • The ‘Request’ column displays the number of data collection requests that could be uploaded to the dataset
    • The ‘Collected’ column displays the amount of data that was successfully collected
    • The ‘Exceptions’ column displays the requests which were not fulfilled due to an error


  3. Click on exception number to open a slider with detailed information about errors

The Skyl Platform provides several options for data collection. Skyl’s Collect API is one of the most convenient methods of data collection which can be uploaded directly from your data source. You can hook the API to your application and start collecting data immediately.

  1. Select “Collect API” under “Data Collection” on the right-hand sidebar


  2. Click on “Get Project Access Token” to navigate to Project Access Token. Then select create a Project Access Token


  3. On the “Project Access Token” page select “Create Access Token” to generate an access token

  4. Copy Access Token


  5. Return to ‘Collect API’ page and select the proper code snippet


  6. Replace “PROJECT_ACCESS_TOKEN” with actual Project Access Token

  7. Replace “IMAGE_URL” with the url of an image

  8. Replace “VALUE_OF_THIS_COLUMN” with the category of the selected tag for the image. (Note: This is an optional field.)

  9. Integrate the code within your system.



Configuring Dataset

Configuring Dataset


Configuring a dataset prepares your project’s data before entering it.  In Skyl, you can enter the name of the dataset, a short description for the dataset, the values for the categories, and the classification of the image.

  1. After choosing a project name and description, you will be directed to the ‘Design the Dataset for your Project’ page. Here, choose a name and write a short description for your dataset

    Sample dataset: ‘Chest X-ray’


  2. Enter the potential classification categories. In this case, the values are ‘Pneumonia’ and ‘Normal’


  3. Select ‘Submit’ after entering the details

  4. Click on ‘Cancel’ to design your dataset later. In this case, the details entered will not be saved and the user will be directed to the Skyl Welcome Page

  5. You can select the card for this project anytime to continue with designing your dataset
